BC Greenhouse Veggie Days is back again this year – in a brand new virtual format! The free online field trip experience will take place from May 12 to June 12, 2022. British Columbia kindergarten to grade 12 classrooms and homeschool educators are invited to register now for this free online greenhouse educational program! Educators that register for this program will be provided links to access this toolkit 24/7 for online student learning anytime/anywhere.”

Interactive Toolkits

BC Greenhouse Veggie Days (Virtual Edition) interactive toolkits are available at the primary (kindergarten – grade 1), elementary (grades 2-5), intermediate (grades 6-9), and secondary (grades 10-12) levels and include:

• Greenhouse Video Tour: Covering energy cycles, plants, greenhouse operation, integrated pest management, grading produce for market and marketing, and greenhouse careers, the 20-minute video provides a snapshot of greenhouse farming. 
• Learning Passports: Passports link the video to Science, Applied Design, Skills, and Technology, Culinary Arts, Careers, and Entrepreneurship and Marketing for straightforward integration into classroom curriculum. 
• Additional Resources: Greenhouse career and/or veggie fact sheets are available to extend learnings.

Classroom prize packs (value $300+ each) will be awarded to the first 12 educators to register for BC Greenhouse Veggie Days and a draw for 30 coffee prize packs (value $20+ each) will also be held for educators that complete the program evaluation!
