Field to Fork Challenge

Connecting Students to Agriculture

Calling All Young Culinary Stars!

Do you love to cook? Do you get excited about creating recipes that feature fresh, locally grown ingredients? Then you should enter our Field to Fork Challenge! BC Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation invites BC youth to enter this year’s cooking challenge for a chance to win cash prizes and more. The Field to Fork Challenge is a celebration of our province’s bounty of ingredients and BC youth’s creativity in the kitchen.

How Does the Field to Fork Challenge Work?

Since we initiated the cooking challenge in 2020, the Field to Fork Challenge has showcased dozens of culinary creations from BC youth across the province. It’s a great opportunity to learn about BC agriculture and the value of cooking with locally grown foods.

The Field to Fork Challenge is open to BC youth (ages 9-19) - in 2 categories - students and 4-H BC members. Everything you need to know about entering the challenge is in the information package.

Get Ready to Enter!

Here’s what we’ll need from each participant:

  • A completed entry form sent to us by the entry deadlines — only one entry per person
  • 1 photo of yourself with your BC-grown or processed ingredients (the “stars” of your recipe)
  • 1 photo of your completed recipe (on a neutral background)
  • 1 video of you introducing yourself and cooking your recipe

Recipes from top-placing entrants will also be featured in the 2022 Field to Fork Challenge Recipe Book. Winners will be selected based on recipe choices, use of BC-grown or processed ingredients, evidence of thorough study, food and kitchen safety, and presentation.
