The Spotlight Series on Dairy is a multi-faceted toolkit that includes the following resources:
- Video: Students can learn about Dairy Farms in a 11 minute-video featuring BC Dairy farmers. They can also learn about Farm Technology and Jobs from Dairy Farmers in BC.
- GIS Resources: Students can explore the Grow BC Dairy Story on the GIS site to learn about BC’s incredible dairy Industry. They can also use the Farm Explorer BC to take an online journey through BC dairy farms.
- Activities: Educators can use A Day on the Dairy Farm, Technology on the Dairy Farm, Fresh Story Milk Primary & Intermediate, A Cow’s Tale and Marvelous Milk to teach students all about Dairy Farming in BC.
- Recipes: Students can utilize their culinary skills to make tasty BC-grown recipes (developed by BCAITC’s Chef Trevor Randle) like BC Butternut Squash Soup, BC Buttermilk Ranch Dressing, Pastry Cream, Baked Lemon Pudding with BC Blueberry Compote and Tres Leches Cake.
The spotlight series is made with the collaboration of BCAITC, BC Dairy and Mainland Milk Producers.
